Eric Trump lashed out at New York City mayor Bill de Blasio after the Democrat shut down ice skating rinks managed by Trump Organization.

As the former president’s son insisted, the mayor’s decision to cut ties with the Trump family’s organization was “purely a political stunt” that will do more harm than good.

According to the reports, the two Central Park rinks managed by Trump Organization will be shut down on Sunday even though the company requested to carry on with business as usual until the end of the season.

With the imminent closure of the two rinks and a deal with new vendors yet to be made, the ice skating season and related community programs in NYC will end more than one month before their due date in April.

“This is purely a political stunt that only hurts New Yorkers,” Eric Trump said in a statement obtained by DailyMail.

“Instead of focusing on a dying city which everyone is leaving because of rising crime, high taxes, closed businesses and totally incompetent leadership, the Mayor is painting signs in front of Trump Tower and trying to destroy the only outdoor activity available to children during a pandemic.”

He added: “This leaves another 250 incredible people out of work in New York, a city with soaring unemployment. Why – to try and get back at a person who sits on a different side of the political aisle who now lives in Florida.

The move follows weeks after de Blasio announced that the city would be cutting all ties with Trump Organization, in spite of their contracts, due to the insurrection.

The repercussions concern not only the two ice skating rinks ran by the Trump Organization but also the company’s management of the Central Park carousel and a golf course in the Bronx.

“Inciting an insurrection – let’s be very clear, let’s say the words again – inciting an insurrection against the United States government clearly constitutes criminal activity,” de Blasio previously said as he insisted the city has the right to cancel ties with Trump Organization.
