Donald Trump is Slowly Losing Senior Votes


As we all know, the US president Donald Trump was famous amongst the senior voters who are 65 and above during the 2016 elections, but now it seems that his popularity isn’t the same amongst them.

According to a recent study, there are fewer chances that the senior voters will vote for Donald Trump, and that’s why he need to put extra efforts into gaining votes.

When the Pew Research Center did a study about the voter data from Trump’s first election, it was noticed that he is easily able to score votes from the voters who are aged 65 and over.

At that time he was able to look after their concerns, and that’s why he scored votes from them easily, but now the same voters will disagree with voting for him.

During the election in 2016, Hillary Clinton was easily able to score votes from the younger generation in comparison with Trump.

Trump had 53 percent of held during the 2016 elections because of the older people, and Hillary was at 44 percent, but now the situation might change as Trump won’t get those 53 percent voters easily.

According to the survey done for the 2020 elections, it shows that there can be a shift in the voter demographic as compared to the past few years.

Though there is no surety that these people would vote democrat as it can also be a point of contention between the two parties in the United States.

Seventy-nine percent of people are from this age bracket, and it means that Trump has really done some upsetting things during his presidency that changed their minds.

The most crucial change he mad was in the healthcare adjustments, which did upset the seniors of the country. Trump failed to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which affected the medical programs for senior citizens.

It was asked what would be the voting situation if Trump handles the healthcare again? Most of them were sticking to their decision taken earlier while the other 23 percent said that they will support him if there’s a change in the healthcare department.

Till now, it seems like people from all age brackets will vote democrat for the upcoming elections in 2020.
