Former President Donald Trump Files Lawsuit Against Twitter, Facebook And Google For Censoring Him

Former President Donald Trump said Wednesday he sued the top officials of social media giants Twitter and Facebook.

But legal analysts said the class-action lawsuit has no chance of success, the USA Today reported.

Trump demanded the end of ‘blacklisting’ and ‘shadow banning.’

“In addition, we are asking the court to impose punitive damages on these social media giants,” the former president said. “We’re going to hold big tech very accountable.”

Trump claimed he has been wrongfully censored and said he will serve as the lead plaintiff in the suit.

In a news conference from his golf club in New Jersey, he said the class-action lawsuit targets Jack Dorsey of Twitter, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, and Sundar Pichai of Google and Alphabet.

Trump accused the big companies of violating First Amendment free speech rights through ‘censorship,’ ‘blacklisting,’ and ‘canceling’ people for political reasons.

“If they can do it to me, they can do it to anyone,” he added.

“There is no better evidence that big tech is out of control than the fact that they banned the sitting President of the United States earlier this year, a ban that continues to this day,” he expressed.

Trump also contrasted his position with hate speech coming from Palestinian and Iran hardliners.

“Hamas, as I said, the greatest killers in the world, have a site,” he said. “But these people call for the destruction of Israel, the destruction of the USA, nothing happens to them.”

The First Amendment, which states: “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom of speech” applies to government entities and not private domains.

Bradly Moss, a Washington-based attorney, said the former president “just wants a PR and fundraising moment, not a real lawsuit.”

“It’s been tried before and failed every time,” he said. “He’ll almost certainly lose.”
