“We do not seek regime change. However, the Iranian regime’s aggression in the region including use of proxy fighters to destabilize its neighbors must end and must end now. The future belongs to the people of Iran,” he said.

Amid growing tensions, Trump has also claimed that he is “ready and prepared to take whatever action is necessary” to protect the American people.

While President Trump has warned the Iranian government that the U.S. has targeted 52 vital points to the country and that they are ready to strike back “in a disproportionate manner” if the Islamic Republic retaliates, Iran has made a move by abandoning the limits set during the 2015 nuclear deal.

“These Media Posts will serve as notification to the United States Congress that should Iran strike any U.S. person or target, the United States will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner. Such legal notice is not required, but is given nevertheless!” Trump tweeted after critics slammed him for the elimination of one of Iran’s most renowned figures.

“We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time,” he said before saying “this is a declaration of war, which means if you hesitate you lose.”

Following General Soleimani’s death, Iraq has also responded whereas the parliament voted in favor of expelling all foreign troops out of the country.

In accordance with the signed bill, the Iraqi government will now have “to work towards ending the presence of all foreign troops on Iraqi soil.”
