Donald Trump has enrolled his son Barron in a $34,800-a-year private school in Florida only 15 minutes from his Mar-a-Lago club.
The Oxbridge Academy recently announced that the son of the former president would be attending the school for the school year 2021 – 2022.
“We look forward to welcoming him into our school and community,” the Director of Advancement Schott Siegfried said.
The private school was founded in 2011 by William Koch, the brother of David and Charles Koch. Also known as Bill, William was a keen fundraiser for Trump’s presidential bid in 2016.
Parents of the students also received an email from the school about the future Secret Service presence on the campus.
“A small contingent of agents will be present during each school day,” Ralph Mauer, the head of the school, wrote.
“We are working directly with the Secret Service to ensure that logistics and security work smoothly and discretely with little impact on students, faculty, staff or day-to-day operations.”
He added: “They want to have little impact on our day-to-day operations. They’ve done this for other presidents’ kids. They’re fantastic.”
According to The International Business Times, the school offers small class sizes with over 170 courses. It also promises to develop “young adults into learners, thinkers and problem solvers” who are “prepared to meet the world boldly with initiative and kindness,” The List reported.
Barron had been attending St. Andrew’s Episcopal School near Washington D.C. while he was still living at the White House.
He previously attended an elite private school in Manhattan that had recently come under fire for forcing students to attend a workshop about p*rn.
Trump and his wife Melania moved to their Mar-a-Lago club earlier this year. They have since spent most of their summer at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, NC, according to the Post.
