US President Donald Trump donated his entire quarterly salary to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to help fight the killer coronavirus.
Eric Trump shared on Twitter a copy of the check from the President addressed to HSH and wrote: “Since this will never get reported by the media, I wanted to share a copy of this check.
“@realDonaldTrump is once again donating his salary back to the United States Government — This quarter, it will be donated to @HHSGov to confront, contain, and combat #Coronavirus.”
Stephanie Grisham, the White House Press Secretary, also wrote on Twitter: “President @realDonaldTrump made a commitment to donate his salary while in office.
“Honoring that promise and to further protect the American people, he is donating his 2019 Q4 salary to @HHSGov to support the efforts being undertaken to confront, contain, and combat #Coronavirus.”
President Trump vowed to donate his salary every year and didn’t break his promise. His donation to fight the killer virus will also make it more difficult for critics to keep pushing the claims that he called coronavirus a ‘hoax.’
“A White House official says Trump has given the $100,000 he would be paid in the quarter to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health, which oversees federal public health offices and programs, including the surgeon general’s office … Trump is required to be paid, but he has pledged to donate his salary while in office to worthy causes,” ABC News reported.
Last year, Trump also donated his salary to the Office of the Surgeon General.
He also shared a photo of a check to the Department of Homeland Security and wrote on Twitter: “While the press doesn’t like writing about it, nor do I need them to, I donate my yearly Presidential salary of $400,000.00 to different agencies throughout the year, this to Homeland Security. If I didn’t do it there would be hell to pay from the FAKE NEWS MEDIA!”
