President Donald Trump called Rudy Giuliani during a hearing in Pennsylvania and said the election ‘has to be turned around,’ the
Daily Mail reported.
During the event, Trump claimed that he won the 2020 presidential election and made allegations of voter fraud.
But even after Pennsylvania and Michigan have certified their results, Trump said: “This was an election that we won easily. We won it by a lot.”
“It’s a very sad thing for country to have this and they have to turn over the results,” Trump said. “It would be easy for me to say, ‘oh, let’s worry about four years from now.’ No. This election was lost by the Democrats, they cheated, it was a fraudulent election.”
The President was expected to join Wednesday’s event but his trip to Pennsylvania was canceled after a member of his campaign tested positive for coronavirus, according to CNN.
“Why wouldn’t they overturn an election?” Trump said via speakerphone. “Certainly overturn it in your state.”
“If you were a Republican poll watcher you were treated like a dog and the Democrats had no problem. What happened here – this is not the United States of America,” President Trump said, The Sun reported.
He added: “The whole world is watching the United States of America and we can’t let them get away with it.
“This election was rigged and we can’t let that happen. We’ve got to turn this election around.”
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro slammed Trump’s allegations of election fraud as ‘devoid of reality.’
He wrote on Twitter: “The sitting president’s remarks today were devoid of reality. The election is over. Pennsylvania has certified results & declared Joe Biden the winner of our Commonwealth.
“Lying through a cell phone at a fake hearing changes nothing.”
