President Donald Trump told Joe Biden to ‘get well soon’ after he suffered an injury on Saturday.
The president-elect fractured his ankle while playing with his dog and visited an orthopedist in Delaware for an examination.
Biden was pictured by NBC News getting into his vehicle wearing a walking boot.
“NBC News photographer captures @JoeBiden leaving orthopedic office in Delaware where the president-elect was just treated for what his doctor called a sprained right ankle from a fall Saturday,” Kelly O’Donnell wrote on Twitter.
President Trump then shared NBC’s video of the president-elect and wrote: “Get well soon!”
Dr. Kevin O’Connor initially said that Biden “sustained a sprain of his right foot” but “no obvious fracture.”
However, a CT scan later “confirmed hairline (small) fractures of President-elect Biden’s lateral and intermediate cuneiform bones, which are in the mid-foot.”
O’Connor added: “It is anticipated that he will likely require a walking boot for several weeks.”
Photos showed Biden arriving at the Delaware Orthopedic Specialists office on Sunday after fracturing his ankle while playing with his German Shepherd Major.
Service agents were seen outside the office as Biden had his foot checked by a specialist.
The Bidens reportedly adopt Major in 2018. Officials said that the pooch will become the first rescue dog to live in the White House.
The family said they will be taking their pets to the White House and they are also planning to adopt a cat.
Biden, 78, will be the oldest president of the United States when he is inaugurated in January.
His doctor described him as “healthy, vigorous” and “fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency.”
