A traveling couple who runs their own blog and Instagram account filled with their adventures have been slammed by social media users after attempting a dangerous stunt that “encourages people to do stupid things.
”
The couple has drawn the attention to their adventures after posting a photo in which the woman was posing on the edge of an infinity pool.
Kelly and Kody are American travel bloggers based in Bali. Recently, they shared a snapshot from their time at the Kayon Jungle Resort in Ubud in which Kody held Kelly over the edge of an infinity pool.
The pair is seen kissing while the girl is ‘bravely’ hanging off the edge with nothing to hold on but her partner.
“Our greatest strength in life, our most important principle, is discernment. Only you can know your body, feel the space around you and understand your capabilities,” they wrote on Instagram.
“We would all do well to remember this, knowing that not every action, style or path we witness through others is or should be, replicated. At the end of the day we are to hold ourselves accountable for the decisions that we make.
“It was a blast setting this up. Kody had a very good hold of me. We trust each other entirely. It was such an amazing feeling to have this come out exactly as we planned. We are safe and sound.”
While the couple insisted they performed the dangerous act “super slow and cautious,” social media users soon slammed them for promoting stupidity.
“You’re teaching other people how to be stupid and risk their life,” one person wrote.
“This picture is beautiful, but please don’t do like this anymore, life is too beautiful than lost your life,” another one said.
Despite the backlash, some commenters applauded the couple for being so “brave.”
“That’s the definition of trust. Looks beautiful but stay safe,” one fan suggested.
