If you stumbled upon Jaimie Wilson, you would probably think that he is an all-American heartthrob.
He has deep blue eyes, casual scruff, and muscular body. No one would ever guess that he is one of about 1.4 million transgender adults in the United States today.
It was in 2015 when Jaimie decided to change from female to male. He admitted that it was a difficult decision to make, and it shocked and estranged most of his family and friends.
“At first I was scared to come out as transgender because I didn’t give any ‘signs,’ as people say,” he wrote on his Instagram account, where he gains over 300 thousand followers.
After two years of undergoing testosterone therapy, hard work at the gym, and surgery, 21-year-old Jaimie has finally shaped himself into the person he has always been at heart.
Although his transformation is remarkable, many people, including fellow members of transgender community, criticize him for being too feminine to too masculine. “People say that I’m trying too hard to be like a cisgendered male,” he told Cosmopolitan in an interview.
But in the long run, it doesn’t matter what people think of you. “You are NOT who people think you are, you are who you know you are,” Jaimie said.
