A Couple Had A Traditional Viking Wedding With A Blood Sacrifice


People decide to get married in the weirdest ways possible, but recently, this couple decided to have a traditional Viking ceremony with a blood sacrifice.

The Norwegian couple exchanged vows similar to the Vikings ceremony while standing in the longboats with priests and blood sacrifice.

The Vikings ceremonies used to happen more than 1000 years ago and the couple decided to opt for it in the present time.

Elisabeth and Rune Dalseth decided to have a Viking ceremony instead of their Christian ceremony in the church.

The couple had longboats in their ceremony, and they decided to do it on the banks of Norwegian lake while they were fully dressed like Vikings.

The ceremony also included a blood sacrifice of the pig, and then the blood was put on the pile of stones which keep dripping over the small figures around which were the gods.

The couple also applied some blood on their foreheads.

After the ceremony, the couple hosted a big night for 130 guests and danced on the traditional songs while drinking honey-beer. Elisabeth said that the couple danced on all the songs that their ancestors used to dance over 1000 years ago.

They are firm believers of the Vikings, and they also named their baby after a Viking hero.

Rune introduced the Viking world to his wife when they met in the year 2016. Slowly, the couple fell in love with the spirituality and people of the Viking world and decided to have their wedding just like the Vikings.

Even though Rune comes from a Christian family, the couple still decided to follow their hearts and have a traditional Viking wedding.
