People claim to be an animal lover but there are very few who prove it. A man saved a cat’s life at the risk of his own and proved the world that he is a true animal lover.
A man from Toronto noticed a cat in danger on a neighbor’s balcony and decided to put his own life at stake to save him.
The man who didn’t want to be named told Blog that he knocked the neighbor’s door at his Liberty Village residence to ask for help but they were not at home.
He said: “He was trying to squeeze back under the glass and getting stuck almost, I was afraid he was going to hurt himself.
“He would likely have fallen if he’d tried to hop back over. I had to do something quick.”
The man was scared that cat would slip and plunge to his death, he decided to save the cat on his own.
In the video posted on Instagram the man can be seen using a chair to lift himself up and over the balcony rail, he managed to carry the cat all the way along the thin ledge before they reach home.
He was asked if he feared for his life while saving the cat, the man replied:
‘’I just wanted to get him back.’’
Jeff Powell, who took the video, told CTV, ‘’Like it’s an everyday type thing, like opening your door and going for a walk down the hallway. It was definitely unique.’’
The video received many comments of praising the man for his bravery.
One Instagram user wrote: ‘’He’s a hero in my book!!!’’
Another said: ‘’Great video!!! I was a cat owner and I can understand why that man went to pick up his cat from the neighbor’s balcony. His cat could have jumped. I am glad that owner didn’t fall.’’
The police said that they are not treating this incident as criminal but has warned residents to not to imitate the man’s behavior due to safety risks.
