We all know when it comes to action movies; there is no one who can match the integrity, commitment, and dedication of Tom Cruise. Age is just a number for this guy who at 55 still prefers doing his stunts.
Recently, Paramount Pictures released the behind-the-scenes footage of Tom Cruise starrer Mission Impossible – Fallout. The two and a half minute video clip showed Cruise’s actual HALO jump from an aircraft.
The clip showed Cruise prepping up for the scene before performing the risky stunt all by himself. No wonder why he gets paid handsomely.
Tom Cruise is known for performing his own stunts in the movies, and it is believed that he is the first actor in the history of actors and actresses to do a HALO jump for a movie sequence.
HALO Jump is a military technique that stands for High Altitude, Low Open and he jumped off from an aircraft 25000 feet above the ground carrying an oxygen mask to stay conscious.
To prepare for the sequence, Tom rehearsed on a giant wind tunnel built by the studio. 25000 feet is very high hence, to prevent Tom from passing out, the crew designed a special breathing mask.
The video shows the cameraman who was wearing a head-mounted camera took the jump along with Cruise. He jumped few feet before Tom to avoid a mid-air collision.
The whole sequence is merely 6 seconds long but the time and dedication given to shoot this scene were immense. This is the sixth installment of the Mission Impossible franchise, and Tom Cruise will be reprising his role as Ethan Hunt once again.
