‘Titanic’ And ‘Back To The Future’ Star Elsa Raven Has Died At The Age Of 91


Titanic and Back to the Future actress Elsa Raven has passed away at the age of 91.

Elsa, whose real surname was Rabinowitz, also starred in The Amityville Horror and Twilight Zone: The Movie, will be remembered as the ‘Save the Clock Tower’ lady from the 1985 film Back to the Future.

She is also known for her two years on the Amen sitcom and on the TV series Wiseguy as the mother of Vincent Terranova.

Elsa’s agent, David Shaul, confirmed the heartbreaking news of her demise to Deadline, saying the actress passed away at her Los Angeles home on Tuesday.

People might not remember her in 1997 film Titanic but she played Ida Strauss, the elderly wife lying on the bed with her husband and hugging each other as the ‘unsinkable’ ship sank.

Elsa made many TV appearances. She starred in Will Smith’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Everybody Loves Raymond, Freddy’s Nightmares, and The A-Team.

She also appeared in Million Dollar Infield, General Hospital, Wiseguy, Seinfeld, and Get a Life.

Elsa’s last film role was in 2011, when she played Mrs. Harrison in Answers to Nothing, starring Dane Cook, Barbara Hersshey, Julie Benz, and Elizabeth Mitchell.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lynn Rabinowitz, and her 15 nephews and nieces.
