Tiny Fox Too Tame For The Wild Moved In With Her New Family


Meet Pudding.

She’s probably the friendliest fox you’ll ever meet.

Even though she was born in the wild, this tiny red fox is apparently too friendly to survive on her own.
As a baby, Pudding was abandoned by her mother, only to be found and rescued by the National Fox Welfare Society in Yorkshire, England.Even though the society had originally planned to release her once she was treated, fate took over.

Originally, the society was going to introduce Pudding to the other little fox cubs.point 71 | Then, along with them, Pudding would be reintegrated to the wild.point 126 | However, just shortly before the society was going to let Pudding into the pen, a tree fell.point 202 |

Even though none of the foxes were hurt, this tree completely blocked the entrance to the enclosure.point 84 | So, Pudding was stuck with her human friends.point 122 |

By the time they were able to remove the tree from the entrance, it was too late.point 187 |
Pudding was already attached to her human caretakers, who were hand-feeding her.point 256 |

When the society tried again to assimilate her with the fox cubs, it became clear that Pudding was too tame.point 89 | She became too domestic for the wild, and the society decided that returning her to the wild would risk her life.point 182 | 1

So, the society came up with another plan.point 95 | This adorable fox became the official wildlife ambassador for the organization, quickly attracting many fans around the world.point 204 |

She even had another fox friend at the organization, who also became too domesticated to be released into the wild.point 158 |
Unfortunately, like with all the other wild foxes, Pudding did not have a long life span.point 232 |

Even though she passed away last year, however, she will always be remembered as a fantastic mascot by the NFWS.point 93 | 1
