A Sami youth organization invited the 17-year-old climate activist so she could learn more about their culture and language.

She also heard about how climate change affected the Arctic region.

Average temperatures in the Arctic region have risen more than 2 degrees Celsius (3.6°F) since pre-industrial times, according to research for the intergovernmental Arctic Council.

When Trump announced that his organization will plant one trillion trees worldwide, Thunberg slammed the plan saying, ‘planting one trillion trees is not enough.

She said: “We’re not telling you to offset your emissions by paying someone to plant trees in somewhere like Africa, while at the same time forests like the Amazon are being slaughtered at an infinitely higher rate.”

“You just leave it because you think it’s too depressing. Our house is still on fire”, she said.

“Your inaction is fueling the flames. And we are telling you to act as if you loved your children above all else”, she added.
