Vandals have punctured the tires of several ambulances in the UK where the coronavirus outbreak has already put a severe strain on the health system.
According to the reports, six vehicles that were rendered temporarily unavailable due to the acts of careless thugs were located at Kent’s Make Ready Depot at the time of the incident.
The story went viral after one of the drivers who came across the damaged ambulances shared a photo on Facebook and slammed the senseless act.
“Six of our ambulances were deliberately damaged overnight in Kent. Beyond disappointed that anyone would do this ever, let alone now when our staff are under so much pressure,” the South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed in a tweet.
“Well done to Fleet & Make Ready teams for getting these back on the road asap. And this is in such contrast to the vast majority of the public who are being fantastically supportive of our staff #TeamSECAmb.”
According to the Kent police, the crime is being investigated and anyone with related information is encouraged to reach out.
Previously, in an unrelated incident, three teens from England got arrested after it was alleged that one or more of them coughed on a senior couple on purpose amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The incident occurred in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, where male teenagers aged between 16 and 19 confronted a couple and “coughed in an elderly couple’s faces.”
After the senior couple, who are deemed to be in their 70s, retaliated, the woman was hit in the face and left with a bruise.
Following the unprovoked attack, the teens got arrested, and later released, and are facing potential charges pending investigation.
According to the local police, the senior lady who was physically attacked was discharged from a hospital after having her black eye checked.
Furthermore, another passerby who attempted to aid the senior couple suffered bodily damages in the process as well, BBC reported.
