Three Roofers Stood Still On Top Of The Roof As National Anthem Was Playing In The Background


How people should act when the national anthem is being played is often discussed and is often debated.

Everyone has their opinion but showing respect for the flag wouldn’t cause any harm to anyone.

Recently, it was proved by three roofers in Oakland, Maine. They showed their respect for the flag, declaring they are proud to be Americans!

A picture went viral on the Internet that shows the three roofers who paused while the national anthem played at a high school next to their job site.

They can be seen with their hands across their chests as the national anthem was played at nearby Waterville High School during a football game.

Michelle Cossar, a resident of the area, saw all this and clicked a photo of them standing on top of the roof.

She shared the picture on her social media with the caption:

“Standing for the National Anthem at the Old Town Waterville football game today and from behind the stands, we hear, ‘Hey, look! They aren’t kneeling.’ When I turn to see who said it, this is what I saw…three men roofing a house and respecting the flag.”

Michelle said that she wanted to know who these gentlemen are. During an interview with WMTW8, Michelle said:

“Just to know that they respected the flag and being an American and to stop what they were doing and stand.”

The picture went viral and everyone applauded them for showing respect for the flag.

The three men work for a company in Oakland, Maine, but they were doing an independent job on Saturday when this picture was clicked.

The three men were tracked down and one of the guys, Dwayne Harrison, said: “That’s what we thought was right to do and that’s what we did.”

He said that he had no idea that their patriotic act would go viral. He said that he is happy and hopes the younger generation will learn something from it.
