She was alone at home when the incident took place.

Even the doctors were astonished to see the little baby’s nose bitten off.

The incident took place in the Yunnan Province of Southern China earlier this month. Rodents, in large numbers, attacked the girl when she was alone at home, according to the local reports.

They said that they probably forgot to clean the food from their daughter’s face after they fed her and this acted as the precursor to the tragic event.

According to the parents, they left the girl unattended for no more than 15 minutes and when they returned to their flat in the Chuxiong prefecture, they found her disfigured by the rodents.

Kunming Radio and TV station reported that the girl was immediately shifted to the nearest ER and then referred to a better and larger hospital in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan.

Doctors stitched the girl’s wounds and arranged anti-rabies shots for her.

They told the parents that it would take quite some time for her injuries to heal fully, adding that plastic surgery might be needed to restore her facial features.
