He said that the incident left him ‘stunned and scared’ as the arachnids suspended in the air.

The frightening footage showed thousands of spiders falling from the sky in Brazil. The young boy who recorded the incident said it left him ‘stunned and scared.’

According to news.com.au, the spiders floated in the air at Espirito Santo do Dourado. Residents said the sky looked like it was ‘raining with spiders.’

Even though the spiders looked like they are falling from the sky, these arachnids are actually moving on top of a huge canopy-like web.

Experts said that it is normal for the region when it is humid and hot for the spiders to form a temporary shared web.

Christina Anne Rheims, a biologist at the Butano Institute at UOL, said: “They are harmless, they do not cause accidents and their venom is not dangerous for humans.”

Joao Pedro Martinelli Fonseca, the 14-year-old who filmed the incredible moment, was left stunned by the eight-legged critters, especially when one fell inside the vehicle he was in.

His grandmother, Jercina Martinelli, told a local newspaper: “There were many more webs and spiders than you can see in the video.”

Parawixia Bistriata spiders are commonly found in the Neotropics. They create a large, loose web and place themselves head down.

Webs are placed one to two meters above the ground and most of them live in the canopy. All spiders in a colony share the same size and age. They share a way during the day and they cluster together.

These critters are known to be social types and make their webs high up, often on telephone poles.
