Thomas Markle said he has given up on his daughter, Meghan Markle, and her husband Prince Harry after reading the new Finding Freedom book.
The 76-year-old father ‘doesn’t trust her’ anymore, his son Thomas Markle Jnr, 53, claims.
Thomas Jnr also said his father became frustrated and angry after reading the book, according to The Mirror.
“As far as a reunion goes, he’s given up on Meghan and Harry completely,” Meghan’s half-brother expressed.
“He doesn’t trust her and doesn’t want to know that person because of the lies, manipulation, and deceit. He just had his 76th birthday – needless to say, he didn’t hear from Meghan.”
Thomas Jnr also says that his father enjoys his retirement going around the world. Thomas Snr also refutes Finding Freedom’s claims that he ignored calls and messages asking him to attend Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
The 53-year-old explained that his father ‘was in hospital’ during those times.
“It says Harry spoke to our dad to say if he’d listened to him, Harry, there wouldn’t have been any problems. That just did not happen,” Thomas Jnr added, insisting that his father called Meghan ‘scores of times’ before the wedding but there were no answers.
The couple got married on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle. They have insisted that they didn’t contribute to the new book, adding that the explosive details were based on ‘independent reporting.’
Despite their rift, Thomas Snr still wants to hold his grandson Archie one time and pursue a good relationship with him.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their royal duties earlier this year and said they would divide their time between America and Britain.
The couple said in their statement that they wanted to ‘carve out a progressive new role’ and ‘step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family.’
