In a tear-jerking moment, when the British’s oldest travel firm was closed this morning, the passengers onboard held a whip-round for the emotional staff.
After the news broke in that the travel firm has collapsed, leaving 21,000 jobs at stake, the crew of the final Thomas Cook flight was stricken with emotion and grief.
A video went viral where the passengers were seen raising money for the staffs and applauding the crew members as the final plane from Orlando landed in Machester.
The Thomas Cook Airbus A330 landed at Manchester Airport at 9:30 am, and the news came out when the flight was in mid-air.
Elizabeth Evans, one of the passengers who was traveling with her husband, stated that it was extremely sad to watch the tearful faces of the staff. They have just landed and lost their job. It’s heartbreaking.
The pilot thanked all his staff member and the lead air hostess and pilot shared an emotional moment when they appreciated each other.
The other passengers further revealed that it’s so sad to watch these people faces. One of the staff has been serving the travel firm from the last 22 years. His pain is unimaginable to anyone.
Another video that went viral on social media was travelers of Thomas Cook’s final flight thanking and wishing all the staff good luck in life.
The video was filmed by a cabin crew member was overwhelmed by the sweet gesture of passengers to cheer up the staff as their future were now a dangling dagger.
Irrespective of such grave concern and melancholy, the staff members were cheerful and happy throughout the journey as they wanted to make their final flight memorable.
Since the video has been uploaded, it has received a massive number of likes and comments from people across the globe. And everyone is sharing their wishes and applause to all the staff member of Thomas Cook.
