Masked thieves broke into a family home and stole expensive puppies after immobilizing their owners.
The incident happened in Basildon, England, where hooded burglars raided a family home and sprayed the owners with an ammonia mixture before stealing their bulldog puppies.
According to the reports, the three adorable puppies that were stolen could rack up more than $6,000 each.
As Sally Knight-Buxton explained, she and her mother were watching TV when the thieves broke into their home and sprayed them with a blinding substance.
After her vision became “completely blurry,” Sally was allegedly punched by the burglars and pushed to the floor along with her 62-year-old mother.
Before escaping in what the investigators believe to be “a dark-colored estate car, a dark-colored hatchback, or a white transit-type van,” the thieves stole the family’s three bulldog puppies.
“We jumped up and screamed in horror and then they squirted me and my mum in the face with some sort of liquid,” Sally recalled in an interview with The Sun.
“I couldn’t see at all, and my eyes started to water and pour with tears, and then they threw my mum to the floor and punched me in the face.
“As they grabbed the puppies, my children came running down the stairs screaming and crying, as these scumbags fled taking our beautiful babies.”
Following the Friday night home invasion, the police have been on the hunt for the culprits. The family has also pleaded with people to share their story in order to help them get the puppies back faster.
“Please, please, help us get our babies back and get these scumbags caught because they are the lowest of the low and don’t deserve to be walking the streets,” the mother wrote on Facebook.
“They have terrorized me and my family and we are now scared to stay at our own home, my children are petrified and keep asking if they are going to come back. I am so scared and still shaking, so please help us.”
According to a police update, one of the thieves they are looking for has been described as a 6-foot man of “Asian or Mediterranean descent.”
“One of the suspects has been described to us as being of Asian or Mediterranean descent and wearing tracksuit trousers,” the authorities revealed.
“One of the other men is described as being around 6ft tall, in his 30s or 40s, large build, wearing a navy top with the hood up, and had dark hair.
“It is believed at least one of the men was wearing a balaclava or beanie-style hat. Our enquiries are ongoing.
“We are particularly looking for anyone who saw a dark colored estate car, a dark colored hatchback, or a white transit-type van in the area at the time or the days before.”
