Thieves have looted and burned two vans that were delivering essentials to families isolated during coronavirus lockdown in the UK.
The incident occurred in Southmead, Bristol, where thugs have ransacked two delivery vans before setting them on fire and running away.
“Thanks to the little f****rs who thought this was a great idea.
Now we’re struggling to get a service out to our customers who are in need, who cannot leave their homes.
Absolute disgrace, I feel ashamed to live in such a s**t hole called southmead,” Beth Shipway, an Iceland employee, wrote as she posted the disturbing photos of the aftermath online. The attack happened just moments after the country’s prime minister urged people to stay at home and respect the orders of the authorities.
“Just hours after the Prime Minister announced that everyone in the country should stay home to save lives, it is beyond belief that anyone would be so reckless and thoughtless,” said Chief Inspector Mark Runacres of the incident.
“Officers were already patrolling the area following recent instances of anti-social behavior and we’ll continue to do so.
“We put an order in place last night to give officers extra powers to disperse groups and will continue to use our existing powers to tackle this problem.”
As the chief inspector went on to say, the police are working on identifying the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.
“We believe that a group of teenagers were involved in these disturbances. I have one message for them, their parents and carers. Stay at home. Save lives,” he added.
