A couple, from Alexandria in Scotland, has died in a car crash on their way to christening to become godparents.
43-year-old David MacIntyre and his 37-year-old wife Rebecca crashed their Vauxhall Corsa in the Lake District in South Cumbria and died at the scene on March 14.
Rebecca, who ran beauty salon Rebecca’s Rituals in Hairzone Glamzone in Jamestown, was described as “an absolute angel” by her best friend and niece Stephanie.
While she described her husband David as “truly amazing, supportive and caring.”
Stephanie said: “I’ve never met a couple more suited for each other. Never have I known a man so be as supportive and caring as David and I think I could recite in Rebecca’s words her version of their love story; She seen him, she said one day she was going to marry him and of course, she did.”
She said Rebecca was brave and headstrong and never failed to touch the hearts of everyone she met.
Stephanie described her as a positive person who would bring people closer and would bring light into everyone’s life.
Rebecca’s staff is also heartbroken after her death as they said they have lost their sister.
Her friends have also paid tribute after the couple’s death as one described her as ‘one of the loveliest people’ while another said she was the ‘kindest human on this planet.’
Cumbria Police said it was a single-vehicle road traffic collision and no other vehicle was found at the scene.
The road remained closed for several hours after the tragic accident while the investigation was being carried out.
Cumbria Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses who have any information or may have seen a Vauxhall Corsa on either Saturday night or Sunday morning to contact PC2462 Masters of Cumbria Police on 101 quoting log number 58 of 15th March 2020.”
