Hawaii Has Taken A Legal Step In Order To Stop Tobacco Usage In the State


Smoking cigarette is a hazardous threat to life and humans across the world are aware of it.

But somehow, rather than taking it as a danger, the new generation has started to take it as a sign of what they call “being cool.”

The age that people start smoking is not legally set yet in some parts of the world but the habit is believed only to be taken after the age of 18 and 21 in most of the countries.

But the bar of underage smokers is going high and high each day. Young adults are taking up smoking with various different reasons. Some think it will help them make more friends, some think it makes them adults, and others act on several different reasons.

For the first time, Hawaii state of US is taking a decision to set a legal bar for smoking that will be extremely strict and the age bar is going to be raised high from it already was.

This means that the people below that age will not be able to buy cigarettes from anywhere (legally). The legal age of smoking in the state is 21 right now.

Democratic state representative, Richard Creagan came up to introduce the bill that is going to set the bar high. The bill will increase the legal age of smoking as a permanent ban.

According to the bill introduced by Richard, the legal age of smoking will be increased to 30 in the year 2020, followed by 40 in the year 2021, 50 in the year 2022, 60 in 2023, and 100 in 2024.

This is a practical attempt to wipe the habit of smoking out permanently from the state.

Creagan is also a physician and the concern of health of the people stays at the prior spot in his mind. He said, “Because of the strict laws in the state, Tobacco usage has definitely lowered down but the usage is still there and it is not stopping.”

He added, “people of the state has developed the habit given out by this industry and it is high time that we make it our responsibility to stop funding the industry and just to throw it out of our lives.

The Tobacco industry is literally enslaving us, consciously and unconsciously ruling over thousands and thousands of people.
