There is a horrifying footage that has been released showing the dolphin hunt in the sea close to the town in Japan called Taiji.
The fishermen in this area are trapping the dolphins in the sea into a cove and have covered the area completely with the canopy and started to slaughter the cetaceans.
This is a tradition that is followed in this town every year and this year the people of Taiji town has killed around 32 dolphins in the sea and turned the color of the sea water to red.
It was a really gruesome incident to see killing of 32 dolphins. This is the video that is captured by using drone. At one point in the video, you can observe the dolphin that is slit would go free into the water and start to ooze out the blood.

Many fishermen started to trap the sea mammals by putting them in a cove. This is done by dipping the metal poles into the water and pushing them down with hammers.
This generates a lot of noise in the underwater that ceases the mammals from making use of their echo location techniques. This results in a lot of confusion and disorientation.
When this state is reached, it becomes quite easy for the fishermen to slaughter the dolphins that are herded at one place.
There is a net that is used by the fishermen to cover the area and use canopies to conceal this terrifying act. Though, the dolphins try to escape from the net, but they could not go to the far distance.
There are around 234 dolphins that are killed during this season and the quota given by the government is 450. In between September to March, 556 dolphins are killed.
There are many campaigners who are trying to create awareness about this gruesome act and stop this killing. Though, the population of whales and dolphins is slumping down, but Japan has resumed commercial whaling, which received huge backlash from the international community.
