Every baby that is born prematurely has some troubles as their bodies are not completely developed and the development is only supposed to take place inside the mother’s womb naturally.
When these babies are born early from the right time of 9 months as the natures rule, they tend to fall sick or has a serious problem that has to be treated.
Majority of the cases of premature birth face this problem and so did this little girl who was born 3 months before when she was supposed to say hello to the world.
Vicky Russell and Scott Daly were told that their daughter Layla will probably won’t be able to survive as her body is not as developed and that she has liver problems that are very serious.
The doctors suggested them to get their girl aborted but they did not agree to it. They decided to bring her into the world and she was then born 3 months before her right time.
She was born very tiny, probably the size of her father’s hand and weighed only 1 lb 9 oz in Melksham, Wiltshire.
The baby was born with underdeveloped lungs and had to go through 11 blood transfusions as her organs started to die. She was under critical circumstances as her body was not developed as per the need.
So, she was kept on medical support where she lived for 115 days in the hospital. Her organs started to develop and the doctors were happy to see that the little girl will get better soon. The doctors then told Vicky and Scott about the same.
Now, the little girl, who fought from so many things together at such a tender age, is safe and is home with her parents to celebrate the grandest festival of Christmas.
Her father Vicky said “We feel so lucky that she is alive today. We were told about the same so many times that our baby won’t be able to make it but here she is with us today. She is fine and she is home and we cannot be happier. We feel incredible that we were lucky enough to bring her home.
She spent 115 days in hospital which is a very long time. There were so many times the doctors told us that this might be her last day but she survived for us. She came home to celebrate Christmas and this is probably the best Christmas of our lives.”
