People are leaving heartwarming ‘thank you’ notes on the bins to show their gratitude to the dustmen and women who are still working during the coronavirus lockdown.
Dozens of people in Bishop’s Stortford are leaving ‘thank you’ messages on their bins for the dustmen and women who continue to collect rubbish daily.
The pictures of the heartwarming ‘thank you’ notes on bins have been shared online and people are praising those who are appreciating the dustmen and women.
Some of the dustmen and women shared the messages online and said they are grateful to such lovely people.
One binman said: “This is so lovely. We are very grateful to everyone. Thank you so much.”
Joe Connolly came up with the idea after realizing how amazing these binmen are as they continue to do their work during coronavirus lockdown.
Connolly said that binmen work really hard and have tight schedules. They are not paid much but still do their work with utmost sincerity.
To show their support and gratitude, Connolly came up with this great idea.
He said: “I often see the binmen working and they have to rush around to meet the very tight schedules they are given.”
“They aren’t paid a lot and do well for us at the best of times so I thought it was the least we could do on our lovely estate is to say ‘thank you’.”
He said the binmen were so touched by the gesture that some of them even stopped to take the pictures of the ‘thank you’ notes and then posted online.
He also praised the residents who came forward to leave ‘thank you’ messages on bins for the dustmen and women.
He said: “The community is really coming together in such difficult times. There are lessons we can learn from all this and we’ll be the better for it.”
