Texas Is Pushing Hard To Teach Cursive Handwriting In Classrooms


Handwriting might not be used much nowadays due to the inception of smart devices in most of the schools in the form of Chromebooks and iPads but scripted handwriting is always very aesthetically attractive.

That is the reason some states in Texas added cursive handwriting back into their syllabus. In 2016, an article from The Washington Post listed the states which are requiring the cursive handwriting including Virginia, the great Lone Star State, Texas, and California.

This modification in standards will rigidly require coaching of scripted handwriting from second grade and will proceed in the later grades. Many teachers find this incentive irrelevant and outdated but the others find this tempting. Those who oppose say cursive handwriting does not have any educational value.
