Texas governor, Greg Abbott, is in the process of accepting donations from anybody and anywhere for those who want to contribute to the ongoing construction of the border wall.

He tells sources that he has plans to continue to ask people to donate, wanting a border between his state and from Mexico. Last week, Abbott, a Republican, has announced these plans for Texas to build its own wall. There have been questions about who will be paying for the future wall.

The podcast, Ruthless, is based around Republican politics and Abbott has had the chance to talk on it. He tells the public that the donations would be “overseen by the state of Texas in the governor’s office.”

Abbott reveals that there would be “great transparency” around the initiative, chiming in that “everyone will know every penny in, every penny out, but the sole purpose for those funds will be going to build the border wall.”

Details about the plans will be released later on this week. Abbott has even cited Joe Biden’s efforts to stop or reverse immigration policies that had been introduced by former president, Donald Trump. This is not the first time someone has tried to crowdfund a border wall. There was a private fundraiser that has raised over $25 million to bring Trump’s border wall to its completion.

Those who were involved with the fundraiser, including Trump’s former adviser, Steven Bannon, were later charged with defrauding donors.

Trump had pardoned Bannon before departing from office last January. It is unclear of how many miles of the border wall will be constructed under the future donations.
