A Texas federal judge has reportedly restricted Trump administration to utilize the $3.
6 billion reserved in the Pentagon funds to construct border walls.
On Tuesday, Judge David Briones from the US District Court for the Western District of Texas declared that Trump could not use the Pentagon fund to construct an additional border.
Everyone was claiming that Trump’s move is completely unnecessary, and it is a clear wastage of the funds.
Taking all the suggestions into consideration and favoring the El Paso County, Texas, and Border Network for Human Rights, who filed the lawsuit against Trump’s move, the judge finally made the right declaration.
$3.6 billion were passed by the Secretary of Defense Mark Esper for the 11 border wall projects in the southern US.
The Pentagon confirmed that half of the money came from deferred projects, and the remaining half came from other planned projects in the country.
The reason behind the sparks following Trump’s movement was because Trump had earlier received $1.375 billion through the Congress funding. It was not being put to use, rather he was looking to seek the Pentagon fund.
The lawsuit that was filed against Trump’s administration also states that Trump’s decision does not adhere to the emergency guidelines of the National Emergency Act.
Kristy Parker from Protect Democracy, a non-profit organization, stated that the president’s declaration is a blatant attempt to get more power from the Congress party.
Today’s decision by the judge has proved that Trump is not the king in the country and that courts are here to check his movements and restrict him at the right time. Those who have filed the lawsuit are extremely happy with the decision.
David Briones has previously ruled the El Paso County and feels grateful to work on the case and make a rightful decision to prevent the funds from getting ruined unnecessarily.
