Tesla’s Cybertruck Armor Glass Smashed By Metal Ball Moments After Elon Musk Unveiled The Vehicle

Elon Musk unveiled Tesla’s new “Cybertruck” on Thursday night but things didn’t go quite as planned.

The hyped crowd, that was expecting to see a show of strength, was left shocked when the vehicle window glass was shattered by a petty metal ball.

Tesla’s CEO had claimed the vehicle was ‘bulletproof’ against a 9mm handgun, but its armored windows were smashed twice when the designer threw metal balls at them.

“Oh my f****** God,” Musk said. “Well, maybe that was a little too hard. But it didn’t go through.”

Ironically, the man didn’t throw the ball with much force.

The same guy also used a sledgehammer on one of the sides of the vehicle to show that it won’t dent – but again, he hit the truck in a light manner.

The vehicle was reportedly built from the same metal that’s used in the construction of SpaceX rockets.

“The market potential for Tesla’s truck remains somewhat of a mystery. There has, to date, been little overlap between full-size pickup truck buyers and Tesla buyers,” CNN reported.

“For instance, Teslas and other electric cars sell well on America’s coasts, while large pickups sell best in the Midwest.”

Senior executive editor at Kelley Blue Book, Matt DeLorenzo, said the Cybertruck won’t succeed.

“It will be a niche product at best and poses no threat in the pickup market as we know it today,” Matt said. “The other downside is that this truck will have no federal tax credits by the time it comes out.”

Last year, Musk told Kara Swisher that he was really looking forward to introducing the truck, despite knowing that it won’t sell well.

“I can’t talk about the details, but it’s gonna be like a really futuristic-like cyberpunk, ‘Blade Runner’ pickup truck,” Musk said.

“I actually don’t know if a lot of people will buy this pickup truck or not, but I don’t care,” he said at one point in the interview.
