While creatures of the wild can be magnificent to behold, you also need to look at it from their perspective. To them, YOU are the interloper. Imagine how mad you’d be if some stranger just up and walked through your lawn without any warning.

When it comes to animals, depending on what type of animal they are, they will either be skittish and run away at the first sign of movement on your part or they will attack and defend their territory. Even animals that are not normally aggressive can be a terrifying sight if they get riled up enough. And that’s what one family found out to their horror when they found themselves in the middle of a pack of stampeding bison.

Bruce Delle Chiaie, 50, was behind the driver’s wheel of a rental car and had with him with his wife and three children as they were passing through Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. Suddenly a herd of bison appeared on the road and caused all traffic to come to a standstill.

That’s when one bison smashed into Bruce’s car with its horns and caused severe damage. The whole family could be heard screaming in terror.

Bruce said: “We had gone to Lamar Valley to try and view a moose we had seen the night before.

“We got out of the car and started looking for the moose.

“We were setting up a spotting scope when one of my sons says ‘run for the car!’

“I turned to see a brown wall rushing down the road.

“We got to the car and my sons went in the back, I stood for a minute and was in awe and started taping.

“My wife starts yelling at me to get in, and fortunately I heeded her warning.”

Bruce said: “The car had 3,500 miles on it when we picked it up, brand new!

“We still have not received the damage costs but I am guessing it will be around $10,000.”
