You’d have to post your sad story first on social media before you get the help you need. This, however, doesn’t apply to emergencies requiring immediate action such as this case. Thanks to two teens’ quick, on-the-spot response, a 5-year-old girl were saved.

Jocelyn Rojas, 5-years-old, was driving her bicycle just in front of her grandmother’s house around 4:30 pm. Jaimee, her mother, was keeping an eye on her from a window. She looked away for a moment when a stranger in a maroon sedan pulled over to offer Jocelyn ice cream. The girl approached the man, and when she came close enough, he grabbed her by the neck and forced her into the car.

I took my eyes off her for five minutes, and she was gone,” said Jaimee.

Jamiee worriedly called the police. The police, in turn, worked with the fire department to immediately set up blockades around the neighborhood’s possible exits. Other concerned authorities, volunteers, and canine units teamed up for the search, but to no avail. Not until two teens came to the rescue.

15-year-old Temar Boggs was helping an elderly neighbor move her couch when one of the searchers approached him with a photo of Jocelyn. Upon seeing the photo, he felt like it was his call of duty.

“I felt that I was going to find her,” he recalled. He talked his younger buddy Chris Garcia, 13 years old, into helping him on his mission. With no hesitation, he agreed. The dynamic duo instantly jumped into action and hopping unto their bicycles.

“Every time we’d go down the street, he’d turn back around, and then… we’ll follow him,” said Temar.

They decided to follow the car on their bikes until they catch the driver. After all, with all the blockades, the suspect couldn’t go any faster if he doesn’t want to raise more suspicion. As to how they would apprehend the driver, they had no idea. The subtle chase lasted for 15 minutes until the car finally came to a stop.

Finally, Temar pulled up his bike right next to the Chevy. Though the glasses were a bit tinted, looking at the backseat, he saw Jocelyn. Then he approached the driver’s side, looked at the abductor in the eyes and bravely said three words which startled the perp.

“I see you.”

It worked like a spell. The kidnapper somehow went into panic mode. He nervously drove forward a bit, stopped, and let Jocelyn go.

“He stopped at the end of the hill and let her out, and she ran to me and said that she needed her mom.”

A few moments later, Jocelyn was reunited with her family. Her grandma, mother, and neighbors were so grateful for the boys’ heroism they can’t help but give them hugs. Temar and Chris saved the day.
