Coronavirus pandemic still seems to a joke to numerous people even after it has claimed lives of more than 16,500 and has affected 3,82,057 people as of 24th March.
The governments in the affected nations have been urging the citizens to stay in quarantine, avoid going out, take precautionary measures like wearing masks and washing hands, and maintain social distancing.
However, some people are uploading gross videos online where they are indulging in unsafe practices and posting clips for the sake of some likes.
These trends are creating panic among other people. Recently, videos of teenagers coughing in the produce in grocery stores have been posted online.
Police in Virginia was quick to react and had tracked the two teenagers who took part in this disturbing trend on Wednesday.
Purcellville Police Department posted on Facebook that the teenage group was allegedly shooting themselves coughing on vegetables and fruits and posted the clip on social media.
The post disclosed that the investigation concluded that the juveniles were coughing into their sleeves and getting near to other shoppers and employees while recording it on their phones.
The police applauded the swift action of the store. It also revealed that upon reviewing the footage, police officers determined that no product or customer was coughed or spat on directly.
The two teens questioned admitted to involvement but it was determined that the two did not have any criminal intent. Because of the age of the teens involved, no video footage or names will be released.
The police department noted that the actions of these teenagers appear to be a part of the disturbing trend gaining momentum online amid the coronavirus disease outbreak, which has forced schools and colleges to shut down across the country.
