Two teenage girls, ages 13 and 15, were charged with stealing a car and the murder of Pakistani immigrant who was killed last month while on the job.
In Washington, DC, it has been reported that the girls are avoiding prison by the age of 21, reaching a deal with the prosecutors.
The plea deal ensures that the girls will not be held in prison past the age of 21, nor will they even be placed in a prison facility.
Video footage is released of the horrible incident, it unfolds in a horrendous disaster and in under two minutes. The victim’s Honda Accord is seen on its side, the wheel continuously spinning as the two girls crawl out to safety.
Unfortunately, Anwar faced fatal injuries and is sprawled across the street, motionless.
The teenagers’ identities are disclosed for privacy issues, but they have been confirmed to be from DC and Fort Washington, Maryland.
The victim was doing his job for Uber Eats when he had gotten killed, the girl had been in his driver seat of his parked car, exclaiming “This is my car!” The teenager is still seated in his car, accelerating into the streets while Anwar is clinging to the driver’s side door in hopes that he would get his car back.
He is slammed into another car, along with his own, and it rolls over onto its side. In the video, it shows the victim’s body lying lifeless on the sidewalk, but the two girls come out, unscathed.
Nearby were two National Guardsmen who were on duty, rushing to the scene to keep company for those affected in the car crash until police arrived. The teenagers who crawled out of the car had been arrested, and Anwar was rushed to the hospital.
Even with quick reflexes, he was proclaimed dead from fatal injuries which included broken bones and head trauma from the impact of the car accident.
There is a Gofundme set for the immigrant, being described as a “hard-working Pakistani immigrant who came to the United States to create a better life for him and his family.”
The campaign has reached over $1 million in order to provide for the funeral and his survivors.
“Words can not describe how our family is feeling currently. Devastation, confusion, shock, anger, heartache, and anguish are just a few that come to mind.”
