A teenager has literally faked being rich and shared pictures of his ‘luxurious’ life on social media under the pretense that he’s become a millionaire ‘influencer.
According to the 19-year-old YouTuber, Byron Denton from London, he was shocked by how easy it was to deceive people by photo editing his pictures to make him look rich and sharing them on his channels.
As the teen admitted, one of his fake pictures that depicted him relaxing in his own private jet got him as many as 1,000 likes on Instagram in just seven seconds.
In other edited pictures, Denton appeared to be wearing expensive clothes and spending time in prestigious places.

“I saw a lot of people faking holidays and stuff, but I thought it would be cool to take a different approach,” the young content creator said.
Speaking of how he faked being rich in a revelation video on YouTube, the teen said:
“I did this to try and compare whether wearing designer items would actually encourage people to like your photos or not, so if we go back to a photo I posted on 1 December, wearing a semi-cute outfit, kinda basic but still kinda cute, this actually ended up getting 2,234 likes, 44 comments, and 113 profile visits.
“Me wearing a designer top or designer shoes, the likes I got on those photos even though it’s still an outfit of a day though, just of me wearing a certain outfit, just doesn’t contain any designer, to then be pulling 12,000 likes, so that’s like 10,000 more people clicking the like button of me wearing designer, just because I’m wearing designer.
While the teen received five messages questioning the reality of his newly-attained lifestyle, he admitted that most people, including his own family, totally fell for the play simply because of the fake pictures.
“I had a lot of messages from my friends asking how I was affording all the designer stuff and a lot of comments from my followers asking if I’d won the lottery or something,” Denton revealed.
As for the goal behind his experiment, Denton wanted to show people just how much power social media holds.
“[The project] made me question everyone’s moves on social media,” the teen admitted.
“Do a lot of the high-profile bloggers these days actually make their way to the top by being honest or do they fake some of it?”
