A teen who killed his entire family ‘is not bothered’ by the tragedy, police said.
14-year-old Mason Sisk is accused of shooting his parents and three young siblings aged 6, 5, and six-month-old in September last year.
According to previous reports, Sisk shot his entire family dead after he discovered that his mother was his stepmom, but investigators are still confirming the motive.
The teen shot his stepmother, Mary, and father, John, as well as his three young siblings, Coleson, Kane, and Aurora before contacting the police.
He reportedly told officers that he was in the basement when he heard the gunfire.
“Mason does not seem bothered by the fact that he is accused of murdering his family,” said Limestone County chief juvenile probation officer Tara Pressnell.
“He has not shown any sign of remorse. While in detention, he has not talked about his family at all.”
A cousin said to reporters that in weeks before the incident, Sisk burnt animals alive and had shown ‘problem behavior at school.’
The 14-year-old has been charged with five counts of capital murder after he admitted to shooting all five people. Despite being a minor, he faces trial as an adult.
Sisk was transferred to Limestone County Jail after Juvenile Judge Matthew Huggins said that there were ‘no reasonable grounds’ he was mentally ill.
Under the Alabama’s law, Sisk can only be charged to life imprisonment and can’t be given the death penalty as he is under the age of 16.
