An 18-year-old girl who went to the hospital with severe back pain gave birth in the toilet.
Dion Seaborne from South Wales was waiting for tests at the Royal Gwent Hospital when she went to the restroom and ended up giving birth to a healthy baby girl.
In an interview with The Sun, the new mom explained that she did not experience any symptoms of pregnancy.
“I didn’t feel any different. I hadn’t put on weight. In fact everyone was telling me I’d lost some weight,” she expressed.
Seaborne said she had never ‘felt so scared in her life’ when a baby suddenly came out of her.
“I had to shout for a nurse to help because I couldn’t reach the emergency button and, at this point, Lilly-May was in the toilet,” she recalled. “I found it terrifying. I have never been so scared in my life.”
The teen called her boyfriend, 18-year-old Callum Morris, to share with him the surprising 4am news. He then called his mother about the baby before going to the hospital with some clothes to meet his baby girl.
“He was so surprised he went to wake his mum up to tell her – it was 4am. He came down to the hospital to bring me some clothes and things and that’s when he met Lilly-May for the first time,” Seaborne shared.
“His face was a picture. He couldn’t stop smiling, saying he loves her and giving her cuddles.”
One person commented: “Oh bless, well that’s the best Christmas surprise ever a new life.. Wishing you both health and happiness x”
Another wrote: “Lucky girl..some women would give the world to be in her position. Congrats..enjoy your daughter.”
A third said: “Wow. Congratulations to the new parents and welcome new baby.”
