A 49-year-old teacher in Houston has been accused of sending illicit messages and nude photos to a 15-year-old student.
Helen Page, a teacher at the Aldine Ninth Grade School in Texas, was charged with felony improper relationship with a male student.
According to reports, investigators said that Page started to contact one of her former students on Snapchat last summer, sending him illicit messages, nude photos of herself, and even describing the sexual acts she wanted the two of them to perform together.
It is not clear whether the teacher and her former student had any physical encounters but on Thursday, she denied engaging in any inappropriate behavior.
Page said that she never sent inappropriate photos to the student even though investigators with the Houston District Attorney’s Office found naked images on her phone.
“This was a huge mistake,” she said in court, the KPRC 2 reported. “I didn’t mean to do it.”
Another teacher at the school told investigators that Page had said that she and the student were in love.
The unnamed teacher allegedly said Page told her via text that she and the 15-year-old student loved each other and that the boy already told his parents about their relationship.
Page was suspended in November after the Aldine Independent School District opened an investigation into their relationship.
School officials said in a statement: “This district turned over the investigation to the Aldine Police Department and charges were filed,” adding they don’t “condone nor tolerate any employee who engages in inappropriate behavior.”
