Teacher Fired After Making Insensitive Joke And Begging Students Not To Tell Anyone About It


A primary school teacher was fired after making an insensitive joke and begging her pupils not to tell anyone about it because it would get her in trouble.

The anonymous teacher who worked at Newberries Primary School threatened her class of 28 10-year-olds that she would “ship them off to the gas chambers” unless they finished their homework in time.

According to the upset parents who demanded the teacher gets sacked, she was begging their kids not to tell anyone about the joke after she was confronted by one of the students.

“You better finish off your work quick, or I’ll ship you all off to the gas chambers,” the teacher said according to one of the parents who explained that she apologized soon after.

After the news of the ‘joke’ spread throughout the school and reached the parents, the headteacher was flooded with complaints and demands that the teacher gets fired.

Following an emergency meeting by the board of governors, the teacher was instantly dismissed.

“We can confirm that last week we were made aware that an alleged racist comment had been made by an agency teacher working within the school,” the school spokesperson announced.

“We acted on this immediately and our governors and leadership team are undertaking a full investigation. The agency teacher will not be returning.”

Newberries Primary School is located in a village of Radlett, Hertfordshire, where one-quarter of residents are Jewish.

“To the credit of the school they made it clear they wanted to deal with the situation without delay,” one angry parent said.

“They did not seek to dispute the suggestion that the teacher had made the reference to ‘gas chambers.’ The fact that the woman was sacked the following day says everything you need to know.”

Following the teacher getting sacked, the school reassured everyone that they were doing everything in their power to “embrace and celebrate diversity” despite the recent incident.

“This year we are asking particularly for the focus to be on strengthening the important messages of religious tolerance and respect,” they said.
