Einstein the Talking Texan Parrot is known for being silly and smart and is quite popular especially when people get to talk to him.

He has memorized the names of several animals and can mimic their sounds.

But Einstein is not just about mimicking sounds. He also likes having “conversations” with his owners. But during one such dialogue, it seemed like Einstein was talking “dirty” to his owner. It starts with Einstein seemingly telling his owner, “Talking dirty to you.”

It was probably just a mistake because his owners have been extra careful not to let Einstein hear any curse words. The last thing any owner wants is a foul-mouthed parrot in the home!

His owner responds with “Are you talking garbage? That’s not nice.” But Einstein adorably replies, “I’m sorry.” Einstein does repeat the word, “Talking dirty” so the owner decides to correct him by saying, “You mean, talking birdie.”

But Einstein’s comeback question was probably the most hilarious of all, considering the context of the conversation. He asks, “What’s a birdie?” Oops.

In any case, despite the seeming conversation, it should be noted that parrots still don’t fully understand the complexities of communicating by words. They communicate to us through different means such as body language so don’t make the mistake of thinking that if you admonish a parrot, they will fully understand the error of their ways!

Either way, Einstein has a huge online following through YouTube @einsteinparrot, Instagram @einsteinparrot, Twitter @einsteinparrot, and Facebook @einsteintexanparrot. His mission statement is: “To entertain and bring joy, to foster the human-parrot bond, and to convey that parrots are deserving of immeasurable amounts of patience, nurturing, and companionship.”

Deciding to own a parrot is a big responsibility. If they are cared for well, parrots such as Einstein can live up to 50 to 60 years. However, they require constant care and nutrition. They also need a big space to fly around, perches where they can rest and need a lot of attention and entertainment in order to avoid getting bored.

Bored parrots can become quite cantankerous and destructive so don’t think that you can just buy one and leave it in a corner like some ornament. But if you show the right care and attention, you’ll have loads of laughs for years to come.
