It is said that there is no one else in the world that can love and protect a child like its mother.
But not all the mothers are the same. Back in 1994, Susan Smith killed her two sons because she was in love with a man who did not want to have any kids.
A prison source said that the woman cries every Christmas because she misses her sons and she feels absolutely guilty about what she did.
The source said “The holidays fill her up with guilt and sends her back to what she did. She cries every Christmas.
Her soul is troubled. She knows she did a monstrous thing and she regrets it so much we can never understand.”
Smith is now 48 years old and is in jail for life imprisonment in Leath Correctional Institution in Greenwood, S.C. she works as the ward assistant at the jail and thus gets to interact with many inmates and the guards on campus.
Her only possessions in the jail that are precious to her are the Bible and the pictures of her 2 sons she had killed about 26 years ago.
She got engaged with the law as on October 25th, 1994 she went to the police and told them that a black man has vanished away with her car that had her two sons in it. She kept pleading them for 9 long days to get her kids back.
In the end, the truth came out and she revealed that there was no black man and she was the one who pushed her car into a lake with her kids, 14 months old Alex and 3 years old Michael in it. She had accepted that she killed her kids and soon she was behind the bars for the rest of her life.
