The owl  was living inside a ditch that was covered with voles and mice because of the December weather.

They all needed to run away from the winters.

The owl was rescued from Suffolk, and the rescuers were scared that they won’t be able to save the owl because it was too injured to fly.

The rescued owl was taken to a sanctuary to make sure it gets the right care and enough time to recover whatever had made it sick with the help of medic and staying in a clean and hygienic environment.

But it turns out the reason why the owl was not able to fly was not the injuries but the weight of the owl. The owl was said to be “extremely obese.”

After weighing the owl it was found out that it weighs 245g which is 1/3 times more than what it should ideally weigh and this is the reason the bird was not able to fly.

After looking into for the reason of this collection of fat around the owl’s body it was found out that it was natural fat. Again, the bird was rescued from a filthy environment filled with farm mice and voles. The bird was closely monitored.

It was then put on a very strict diet for about 3 weeks and it had started losing its weight that was protecting it from flying.

After a long run and almost a month under the special monitoring, the owl was able to lose most of its weight and so the bird was released back into the wild to live a normal life it is supposed to be living.
