An Instagram influencer’s post went viral after she shared a picture of herself “butt sunbathing” or, as she also calls it, “perineum sunning.

Meagan, from California, is known as metaphysicalmeagan on Instagram and she also has a YouTube channel. The photos she shared shows her in her birthday clothes as she exposed her “bum and yoni” to sunlight.

However, she’s not doing this because she’s an exhibitionist but because the practice supposedly provides her “surges of energy” and promotes “better sleep.” She also wrote in her caption that “30 seconds of sunlight on your butthole is the equivalent of a full day of sunlight with your clothes on.”

She adds that what she’s performing is an ancient “Taoist practice” which she started practicing a few weeks ago.

“Perineum sunning is an ancient Taoist practice that originated in the Far East,” she writes. “In Taoism, the perineum or Hui Yin is called the ‘Gate of Life and Death’. This is a gateway where energy enters and exits the body.”

Even just a few minutes of exposure is already enough for an “almost immediate” surge of energy. In addition, butt sunning supposedly helped in “attracting my desires and intentions with ease” including attracting “soul tribe and people who are on the same frequency and wavelength as me.” Meagan also said that it’s “truly more energizing than slamming cups of coffee.”

With the massive popularity of her first post, Meagan added a second one that details even more benefits such as “increasing creativity” and helping “balance sexual energy.”

Meagan also advises those who want to try the practice out to only hold the pose for roughly 30 seconds and build up to a maximum of five minutes because “the intention is not to tan your butthole.”

The “ideal” time to perform the pose is between 7 am and 9 am.

To be fair, the idea of performing esoteric practices naked is not unheard of. Edwin J. Dingle, a British cartographer, and journalist, reportedly traveled to Tibet in 1910 and took home with him a series of breathing exercises which he taught at the Institute of Mentalphysics, which he founded in California in 1927.

For the greatest efficacy, Dingle recommends practicing the techniques for an hour each day while naked.

Of course, during ancient times, there weren’t as many people around so it was easy to find isolated or secluded areas where one could practice in the nude. However, such is not the case nowadays so be careful if you want to practice Meagan’s method lest you be charged with indecent exposure!
