There are reasons why one should always consult a doctor right when they start encountering physical pains.
While for others it might be just a statement, for Katie Bourne, the situation is certainly different.
Right when Bourne started suffering from belly pains, she visited her doctor. And the doctors suggested that she might be suffering from Crohn’s disease.
Despite getting diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, she experienced months of chronic pains. It was right after some time when she turned 24 and finally got diagnosed with the severe painful disease in the name of cervical cancer.
Patients suffering from cervical cancer are always suggested to go for a smear test. But poor Bourne was just 24. Since her young age was a big problem for the smear test, the doctors refused to give this test here.
Back in February, the girl was finally diagnosed with stage-three cervical cancer. Thereafter, she was warned that unless she began her treatment, she would just live for a total of 18 months.
Sources claim that the girl has declared that all the symptoms point towards cervical cancer. However, it is her unfortunate age that turned the referral for smear test down.
She has also stated that she experienced stomach pains in the month of July last year. Currently, she has been told that she has stage-three cervical cancer that has spread to the sides of her pelvis. Last month, she has initiated chemotherapy.
However, the bad news is that the doctors are still not aware of how responsive the therapy would turn out to be. Without any treatment, Katie Bourne’s prognosis is just 18 months.
Since she is familiar with the fact that she would not live longer than 18 months, she has some wishes in her lists. Among everything else, the first one is to marry her partner – Leighanne Prior (the couple is together for four years).
January is the time when she would go on a honeymoon with him in the Maldives! All the best to this couple, and may her soul live longer in the distant future!
