A Kansas state representative, who was also hired to be a working substitute teacher, has allegedly kneed a student in the crotch while threatening to take out the “wrath of God” to the students in the class that he was watching over.
He has been arrested for such actions.
Rep. Mark Samsel was charged with misdemeanor battery, students caught footage of their substitute teacher talking about topics such as sex, suicide, masturbation, and the Bible before he started to go around, threatening and attacking the class.
He went on a religious rant and was substituting a school located in the Wellsville school district.
The video captures the moment Samsel tells the class about a student who tried to kill himself, commenting about how both of the students’ parents were females.point 358 |
He comments, “He’s a foster kid.point 39 | His alternatives in life were having no parents or foster care parents who are gay.point 108 | How do you think I’m going to feel if he commits suicide? Awful.point 166 | ”point 173 | 1
He even asks more invasive questions such as “Who likes making babies? That feels good, doesn’t it? You haven’t masturbated? Don’t answer that question… God already knows.”
He starts to push the student in front of him as he tries to escape, Samsel exclaims “You should run and scream.”
Samsel turns around and tells other students that they have permission to “kick him in the balls.” In which he goes around and knees him in the crotch. After initiating the action, he asks the student, “did it hurt?”
As the student cries, Samsel pats him on the shoulder for comfort and even apologizes, sending him to the nurse so he can check up on his private parts. The lawmaker’s behavior was shocking, and it concerned parents of those students in the class. Since he has a position of power and he is with kids all the time, concern had grown within the community.
He is now being barred from teaching in the district at all after the incident.
The situation is being investigated and Samsel has been booked into the Franklin County Adult Detention Center last Thursday. He had been released with a $1,000 bond.
His position as a Senate leader has been stripped from him, forcing him to quit.
