A 21-year-old university student, from Melbourne, Australia, was born with a birthmark on her face and hated it while growing up.

Tasha Siara would try to hide it with her hair during her school years as she was tired of negative and hurtful comments.
Tasha said: “When I was younger, people used to call me a ‘two-faced Batman’ – I tried not to let it bother me too much but I was always very self-conscious of it.”
But she decided to embrace her imperfections after seeing so many beauty bloggers flaunting their birthmarks.
Tasha started highlighting her facial birthmark with make-up for critics and to encourage others with imperfections.
She said: “I saw them and thought how I’d like to try it, so I did, and I’ve had some really nice comments afterwards. Highlighting it like I do has actually made me feel so much better.”
“I think because I spent a long time covering it with my hair, it feels refreshing to not just have it out but be like yes this is a part of me.”
Tasha now highlights her birthmark after completing her makeup and shares her pictures and videos online to raise awareness and encourage others.
Tasha, who had taken special permission at school to wear her hair down because of her birthmark, now loves to flaunt it.
She said: “I often do the right side of my face first, and then I’ll add something to my birthmark.”
“I often outline it or add glitter or metallic eye shadow to the top of it or sometimes just use a pink highlighter on my birthmark side and a silvery one on the other side.”
In addition to his family and friends, the online community is also supporting her and now she receives positive comments about her birthmark.
She is encouraging others to accept their imperfections by sharing her pictures and videos online. She says people with birthmarks message her asking for make up advice.
Tasha said: “It’s amazing to be able to have the confidence to just be myself and show others they can do it too.”
