A 21-year-old student who felt a strong connection with a stranger during a 10-hour flight is now desperate to find him hoping he could be The One for her.
Jomaica from Seattle said she sat in window seat 43A on flight LH490 to Seattle from Frankfurt on March 26. She was then accompanied by the “good looking man in his twenties” who sat next to her in seat 43B.
The two spoke briefly and the “lovely gentleman” also helped her with her luggage.
The business student, who is originally from the Philippines, first posted about her plea on her Facebook page. She forgot to ask for the man’s full name and number, so she is now sharing her story hoping to find him again.
“He was a good looking young man and was clean cut, had dark hair, and was around 5’8 – 5’9,” she described. “He was probably in his twenties. I believe he was wearing black Adidas NMD shoes and a silver/grey back pack, with an orange shirt and jeans.”
Jomaica was on her way home from a 6-day holiday in Portugal. Her connecting flight was from Frankfurt to Seattle.
“I was walking down the aisle and looking for my seat and there he was sitting and looking. We exchanged smiles. I had small luggage with me that I had to put above the compartment before I sat down.
“He offered to help me out but I insisted on trying to do it myself because I’m a strong independent woman. In the end he helped me anyway because I was too short to even reach it – I’m 5’1.”
She slept for the first few hours and didn’t eat. Her mystery man ordered a “Korean flavored chicken with a gin and tonic drink.”
Even though they only had brief conversations, she said there was “small talk here and there.”
“He asked me if I was cold since he wasn’t using his blanket so he could give it to me. He also tried to help me recline my seat back but we both failed. However, I still thanked him. He responded: ‘There was no help but you’re welcome’ and smiled.”
Jomaica continued: “I also purposely didn’t use my headphones while I was watching a movie and just turned on the subtitles in the hope he would talk to me, but he didn’t. Maybe he was shy, too.
“Perhaps he was a college student? I remember that he had a little bit of an accent -maybe British – and was on his phone a lot as well.”
Desperate to find the ‘lovely gentleman,’ she messaged airline Lufthansa to see if they could help her. Even though Lufthansa loved hearing about her sweet and enjoyable flight, there was nothing they could do to track him down due to data protection problems.
“I would like to find him, wherever he is and at least try my chances, get to know him and see where it goes, at least I tried and I won’t have any regrets,” she said.
